I'm a freelance designer and photographer. This blog is my way of sharing work-related news and links and suchlike.
Been doing some photography for a local wholefoods market recently. Here’s a selection of images I’m rather pleased with. Some were done in my studio, some on location and others in my kitchen.
I just never get tired of myself… Actually, that’s not true. I’m frequently tired of myself, however, I was rather pleased with this profile on sevenbyfive.
I was very pleased to be able to create this design for my favourite local band, the Chancellors of Vice. I’m a huge fan of 70s funk/soul and I love the look that goes along with it, so this was particularly fun to do.
The site is here temporarily until it gets to its permanent home.
(P.S. I also took all the photos. Oh, and designed the logo.)
Lovely new site, Kitchen Simplicity, is now my favourite food photography site and not just because they’ve used one of my photos in their Colorful Monday series…

Printing up some promotional postcards to mail out. A few small edits here and there, but these are pretty much them…

It’s been a while, but I’ve replaced some images in my gallery with some new ones.
An amusing side effect of using old cameras is that double exposures can happen at any time. Sometimes this can be devastatingly disappointing, but more often reveals interesting effects.
Here are some recent "happy accidents".
Not released yet, but this is the cover design for Scott’s latest novel.

And here it is on the website and in the paper.

One of my photos of a captive budgie was published in a current issue of BirdNote to illustrate a feature from the US public radio station NPR. Do listen to the MP3 of the clip. The budgie image is there to accompany a clip from Sparky the budgerigar, a well-know English talking bird from the 50s. You’ll be amazed at its speaking ability. There’s also a little mention of the late Alex the African Grey - one of my favourite birds of all time.
