I’ve been concentrating on the day job recently, but have had a few minutes to work on other design projects, in particular business cards. I love to do cards for creative people and companies, because, although branding is important, you can go off on tangents and play around with lots of designs. Like the cards I did for my favourite writer (actually, my favourite everything), Scott Norton.

Just completed a book design project. For this one, I did the photography, cover design and interior layout. Definitely worth mentioning that the book is brilliant and the author’s pretty damn hot as well.

Mine, in this case, talking about Creebies on PocketGamer. Part one.

I’ve just had confirmation that one of my photos taken at Warner Springs ranch in California will be published in the LA Times Magazine on the 6th of April. If you’re in the area, could you pick me up a copy, please? I’m pretty sure I won’t be anywhere near there next week.
Creebies is closest to completetion and whilst the single comment on the article was less than encouraging, the review itself was unique in the fact that they really got what I was trying to do with it. Creebies is very close to my heart, you see. I think it’s funny, interesting and really quite deep. Deeper than you might think on first glance, that is. I’m also pleased that the reviewer enjoyed the hurdles mini-game, since that’s also my favourite and one I had to fight to keep in its present form (testers considered it too hard). The reviewer also pointed out the tricky issue with regard to audience for Creebies. We’d aimed it at a young, primarily female target market, since that’s what was requested, but of course, that market generally don’t buy the phones that the game runs on! I’m hoping that older girls and women - like me - will also enjoy it.
Yamake is still in production and also got quite a good review, despite the reviewer not being able to make any games. The latest version has some really fun and challenging new quizzes in it. It’s a great title to bring out at the pub or when traveling with friends. I predict it will do well! I hope!

Creebies is a quirky and fun 3D virtual pet title for Nokia’s N-Gage platform. Their new gaming platform runs on a wide range of Nokia multimedia devices, including the N73, N95 and N81.
You can choose from 16 different breeds of Creebies, all with their own individual personalities, appearance and even their own digital DNA that will allow you to breed Creebies together to make all new and entirely unique Creebies. You can play games with them, buy them toys and accessories from the shops or compete in crazy competitions against other Creebies - your own or your friends’ via BlueTooth or the N-Gage Arena.
Creebies live each in their own “mobile home” that you can customise inside and out with wallpaper, flooring and furniture. How you treat your Creebies and the items you buy for them will affect their personality and can colour the relationship they have with other Creebies.
Creebies are highly sociable. They play, fight and fall in love (or not!). It’s up to you to care for them, teach them and ensure they have all they need to live long, happy lives!
